Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital, in Columbia, S.C., is one of the largest and most progressive hospitals in the Southeast. A teaching hospital associated with The University of South Carolina, Palmetto Richland is a leader in many areas of treatment and research.

Palmetto Health Baptist Emergency Department is a fully equipped Level II department providing 24-hour service. Approximately 3,000 patients are treated monthly. The Emergency Department also includes a five bed Express Care area staffed by a physician and registered nurse for the treatment of non-urgent cases 10 hours a day.
Today Palmetto Health Baptist Columbia operates at a capacity of 524 acute care beds with some 2,000 full- and part-time employees, nearly 800 physicians and 500 volunteers. Voted the "Best Hospital" for ten consecutive years by the readers of The State, South Carolina's largest daily newspaper, Palmetto Baptist Columbia is regarded as one of the best equipped and up-to-date hospitals in the Southeast.
